Fight: Twitter OR Facebook

January 16, 2011 at 4:05 pm | No comment | Category: Social Media

facebook-vs-twitterWho will win? I hear this question quite about actually. It’s just a fun, sometimes silly, question that people ask. But it gets me thinking every time “If I could only go to one of these two websites, which would I choose? Twitter or facebook?”.

My Quick Response To This Question

I’ll tell you right now, I’ll quickly answer twitter. And it’s more about what I don’t like about facebook. I don’t care much to look through a whole album of pictures from your family reunion, or what task you completed on some online game that you invited me to a week before. I just like status updates on facebook. I honestly want to know if you’re having a turkey sandwich for lunch today. That’s weird, I know, and if updates were 100% just that, I wouldn’t like it as much, but my statement still stands.

Don’t Fire Me! I Do Too Have a Twitter Account

Do you twitter? Are you on facebook? Are you getting left behind in your business?

The New York Times is going to eliminate their social media editor position….first impress of the announcement sounds like there is no need for social media in the workplace, but it’s actually just the opposite.

Social Media Experiment

I was out to lunch with a friend of mine, Josh, and I told him some great advice on how to get more online social interaction…

“If you tweet or post something on Facebook about one of two topics, the weather, or food, you will get responses from your friends before we leave this fine eating establishment.”

I said something like that, may not be the exact words…but no matter, it was truth. Not only did he get Facebook comments on his weather update here in Florida, he got a personal text message about said update. It worked better than what I even thought.

It's Android, Get It Right, Sir

Who knew good advertising would get under my skin so much?

As you probably know, I am an Android mobile phone operating system fan (or fanatic. It’s hard to tell sometimes), and I talk about it more than probably what I should.

There is no doubt that Motorola has pushed Android to the masses, and the Droid series phones are a great line of phones, and definitely the best selling ones out there. And for that, I thank Motorola for its support of such a great mobile platform.

However, their advertising for these Droid phones have “confused” in my opinion, many a people. A trend as formed into referring to every phone running Android as a “Droid” phone. And thus where my frustration comes in.

I’m A YouTube Partner(Sort of)

youtube-logoOn September 18th, I logged into my YouTube account and saw a box that isn’t usually above my subscription box. It stated that one of my videos might be eligible for an ad revenue sharing partnership, given the views that it had(at this time, it was around 12,000+ views). I quickly jumped at this chance, if for nothing else, just to go through the experience of getting “approved” and relaying my story to the internet for all the world to see and read like so…

Hulu Plus: Pros And Cons

Introducing Hulu Plus

If you know me at all, you will know that I absolutely love Hulu.com. Television watching has been almost none existent for a few years now (with a few exceptions), so the idea of being able to watch “professional” video content from channels like NBC, Fox, and ABC in my second monitor while working on projects and what not…then I am all for it, and have been a hulu member since 2007.

Hulu has recently announced that it would begin inviting users to subscribe to a premium membership that is able to access whole seasons of certain TV shows, and a few other benefits. And even more recently have sent out the first wave of invites, which included myself. Here are my thoughts and some of the pros and cons of “Hulu Plus“.
