Don’t Fire Me! I Do Too Have a Twitter Account
Do you twitter? Are you on facebook? Are you getting left behind in your business?
The New York Times is going to eliminate their social media editor position….first impress of the announcement sounds like there is no need for social media in the workplace, but it’s actually just the opposite.
Social media needs to be an everyday thing, it drives traffic, it boosts business, and it doesn’t need to be just one person’s responsibility (although to track, and make sure marketing efforts through social media are being executed properly could be just one person, or a team’s responsibility), but it needs to be on everyone’s mind.
At the end of the day, employees should realize that it will only help them. It can promote their own work, their projects that they worked on, or as Gary V talks about, it builds your personal brand. Who wouldn’t want all that?
